Darrow School is seeking a School Nurse that will report to the Dean of Students and serve as a member of the health team, and be an integral part of the Darrow community. Ideal candidate will be able to partner with students, families, faculty and health providers to provide students health services that facilitate optimal physical, mental, emotional and social growth, and development. Must be dynamic, detail oriented, adaptable and have an understanding and appreciation of adolescent development. It is critical that the School Nurse be able to maintain confidentiality, provide keen customer service and treat students with kindness, compassion and respect. They must listen to students, assess and address health concerns and communicate both orally and in writing with faculty, school administrators, and families when students are injured, sick, or experiencing other health concerns. The School Nurse must be fully integrated into the community, interacting with students and faculty both in and outside of health services office, including living on campus during the academic year. This position requires working at minimum 40 hours per week during the academic year and be on-call for needs that arise after hours.
