Darrow School seeks an experienced, entrepreneurial and energetic educator to co-found, with the Head of School, a gap year program teaching recent high school graduates how to design and launch a social enterprise or a commercial enterprise.
Performance goals: • In the first 60 days collaboratively develop a program framework that can be highly individualized and customized for each student. • During the year develop observable expertise for each student in agile project management and lean start-up practice. • Facilitate each students’ development of their enterprise such that their learning capabilities and strengths are maximized and weaknesses identified and improved where necessary. • Oversee day-to-day and week-to-week student progress in developing their enterprise. • Sign-off on students launch stipend spending requests. • Assess the “weekly deliverable” presentation of each student. • Document the development of the curriculum and program to ensure effective program improvement iterations. • Teach foundational course in social and commercial enterprise design and development. • Conduct occasional insight interviews to help program iteration and improvement.
