Position Summary: The School Van Driver is responsible for operating the school van on a regular daily schedule to transport students to and from the school at the beginning and end of the school day.
Employment Classification: Non-exempt, 10 month
Reports to: Director of Facilities
Oversight and responsibilities: • Drives school van to transport students to and from the school. Specific pick-up and drop-off areas will depend on location of students being transported. • Operates the van in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with the law and all relevant school policies and procedures. • Ensures that van is in good operating condition by performing required daily pre-trip safety inspections and maintenance checks and that van is “broom clean” and free from garbage post-trip. • Communicates with co-workers, parents, students, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
• High school diploma or equivalent • Valid PA driver’s license • Over 25 years of age • Satisfactory background checks and motor vehicle history • Preferred: experience driving school-age children • Preferred: familiarity with and appreciation for Quaker principles
