Marymount School of New York seeks an enthusiastic person to join our team as an Admissions Associate beginning July 1, 2018. This entry-level position involves working with the school administration in representing and promoting the mission of Marymount School to prospective and current families. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills; must enjoy getting to know new people; must be a collaborative team player; and will be able to articulate passionate advocacy for the mission of Marymount School.
Terms of Employment:
The Admissions Associate reports to the Director of Admissions and works closely with the Diversity Coordinator to attract student applicants from diverse and under-represented backgrounds.
This is a full-time, twelve-month position (July 1 to June 30). Competitive salary and benefits.
Work schedule is not a typical 9-5. Candidate must be flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Serve as the primary contact for all admissions inquiries. Answer phone calls and emails, schedule tours and applicant visits and serve as a guide to the admissions process for prospective families. Speak knowledgeably about Marymount School and our program.
Organize and maintain electronic/paper files. Maintain database of applicant information. Generate reports as needed to provide information about applicant numbers and demographics, as well as track application statuses. (Previous experience not necessary, as training will be provided, but must be able to follow directions and database protocol with attention to detail.)
Greet visiting students and families upon arrival for tours, interviews, and other events.
Assist with school events such as open houses, visits, and special events. Manage logistics for outside meetings and events, including some weekend and evening events.
Serve as an ambassador for Marymount School in interacting with sending schools, peer schools, and multiple other external constituencies
Tour school visitors; familiarize guests with facilities.
Interact with the Business Office to coordinate all enrollment and re-enrollment contracts.
Interact with Communications Office to coordinate marketing materials.
Coordinate with the Marymount Parents’ Association to support the integration of newly enrolled families into the Marymount community
Organize individual child evaluations, including coordinating with the other division assistants to schedule more complex child visits
Bachelor’s degree required.
Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Apple applications including, but not limited to: Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iMovie
Google Drive and Google apps
Experience with databases or Filemaker a plus.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise independent judgment and cordially interact with students, parents, and staff.
Professional and cooperative demeanor with colleagues.
Team oriented, with ability to multi-task and willingness to pitch in as needed.
Ability to travel up and down townhouse stairs several times per day
