AGBU Vatche & Tamar Manoukian High School is a 9-12 co-educational institution serving the Armenian community of the San Gabriel Valley. In 2007 AGBU Vatche & Tamar Manoukian High School received a full six-year term of accreditation. In its second accreditation cycle the school received this distinction from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in 2013 and is currently in good standing as an accredited institution. Since its founding in 2006, the school has developed a comprehensive academic program, planned with the goal of developing fundamental scholastic skills, analytical and critical thinking, study skills and self-confidence in students to pursue college and career objectives. The school strives to foster student inquiry, creativity, and true love of learning in a supportive and caring school environment. The literary concentration is World Literature centering on such authors representing various cultures such as Albert Camus, Chinua Achebe, Elif Shafak, R.K. Narayan, Euripedes, John Paul Sartre, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Franz Kafka, Jorge Luis Borges, Paulo Coelho, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez, as representative examples. These can be substituted as other authors and works are considered.
An undergraduate degree in the subject area is essential and a masters degree is preferred. Experience is highly attractive.
