Germantown Friends School is in search of a Part-Time After-School Program (ASPire) Manager.
The ASPire Program Manager is responsible for creating a consistent and predictable after-school care program to students and families, while creating interesting programming that sparks student interest and engagement. As such, the ASPire Program Manager will work closely with the Director of Auxiliary Programming to integrate the ASPire program into the larger landscape of after school programming at Germantown Friends School. The after-school care at Germantown Friends School should reflect the school’s mission and values through the maintenance of a high-level after-school enriching experience for Lower and Middle School students. This is a part-time position; the ASPire Manager is part of the Auxiliary Team and reports to the Director of Auxiliary Programming.
Specific responsibilities include:
Creating, administering, and supervising an innovative, engaging and varied programming for K-8 students in the ASPire program
Hiring, training and managing all ASPire staff in conjunction with Director of Auxiliary Programming
Holding regular staff team meetings for planning and building team connections
Creating protocols for program staff
Meeting bi-annually with team members for feedback and evaluation
Working with the HR departure to get new team members clearances and to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
Drafting weekly schedules for pick-up as well as creating schedules to manage students while they are in the program
Coordinate and assist with the planning of any special ASPire day(s)
Coordinate and assist with the after school clubs program
Assist and collaborate with the Auxiliary team on any other programing
Managing the day-to-day operations of the ASPire program
Purchasing snacks and materials for the ASPire program
Tracking and charging for ASPire attendance
Working with Lower School Office on ASPire attendance changes
Ensuring all shared spaces are cleaned and organized at the end of each day
Keeping track of and escorting ASPire students to the Late Shuttle
Communicating with parents, faculty, and staff
Keeping parents informed about ASPire highlights, programming, events, and staff changes
Responding promptly to communications from parents
Communicating with parents about behavior concerns when necessary
Working and communicating with faculty and staff about use of shared spaces and ASPire events
Updating as necessary the ASPire portion of the GFS website
Submitting ASPire updates for inclusion in Parent Press
Overseeing financial performance
Keeping precise records of student attendance, including drop ins
Keeping track of all expenses
Prepare payroll and budget information for Business Office
High School Diploma required; B.A. preferred
3-5 years demonstrated program management experience
Demonstrated supervisory experience
Hours: Monday-Friday, 2:00-6:00 pm Start date: August 20, 2018
