We are looking for a counselors to co-lead a combination of day and overnight trips for campers ranging in age from 9-15. Counselors must possess strong leadership and communication skills and work collaboratively with co-staff.
Counselors are responsible for day to day safety, travel and supervision of up to 13 campers with the assistance of a co-counselor. Counselors are expected to lead, facilitate, teach, supervise, assist and participate enthusiastically in activities including kayaking, canoeing, camping, rock climbing, hiking, biking, etc. Counselors are also responsible for transporting campers in mini-buses. Counselors must be passionate about working with kids in a relaxed, positive, active and unpredictable outdoor environment. We are specifically looking for candidates with experience facilitating positive group dynamics and helping individuals recognize their strengths and work within a group. Counselors can work anywhere from 2-9 weeks between June 25th and August 17th.
Also, all staff (working 4 or more weeks) need to be lifeguard certified, or register for a certification course before employment begins. We offer a course at camp for those who are interested.
