Charles Wright Academy is an independent coeducational day school offering a broad curriculum in the liberal arts. Founded in 1957, the school enrolls 680 students in grades junior kindergarten through twelve. We are located in a suburban neighborhood southwest of Tacoma, approximately one mile from Puget Sound and within the shadow of Mt. Rainier.

Summary: Helps maintain the campus grounds by mowing, trimming, edging lawns, weeding, raking and picking up leaves and debris.
Responsibilities: • Be able to operate and perform routine maintenance on grounds equipment. • Have a basic knowledge of irrigation system. • Responsible for maintaining refuse collection system on campus. • Assist Groundskeeper I and Grounds Lead with fertilizing. • Assist with maintaining all grassy playing surfaces in a manner that is suitable for that particular sport. • Pressure wash tennis courts, track, sidewalks and other areas as assigned. • Custodial care of areas as designated by the Facilities Manager during the winter schedule. • Do set-ups and break-downs as requested. • Working knowledge of material safety data sheets and proper use of personal protective equipment. • Perform security and lock-up duties as required. • Able to work and contribute in a team setting. • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, in addition to 1-2 years’ experience in grounds maintenance. Must be able to work one weekend day and be available for occasional overtime.
