Lycée Français de New York, a French-American school with a strong English program, has an opening for an Elementary English teacher to cover a maternity leave beginning in the fall of 2018. We are looking for a teacher who:
is interested in working in a bilingual French/English setting
has experience teaching grades 1-5
has training in Childhood Education with a bachelor's degree or higher
has training/background in English/ ELA
has a strong writing and speaking skills in English (preferably native speaker)
is innovative and technology-savvy
enjoys collaborating on curriculum and teaching practices
is adaptable, flexible and willing to teach several different grades
has some proficiency in French and is willing to learn more

The Lycée Français de New York is a nursery through twelfth grade coeducational, bilingual, independent day school in Manhattan, serving 1,370 students. While the Lycée follows the curriculum of the French Ministry of National Education, students also receive a comprehensive education in the English language, including US history and culture.
