Upland Country Day School seeks an innovative and experienced part-time Lower School Spanish Teacher for the 2018-2019 school year.
The Spanish teacher is responsible for designing and implementing a program for students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade that provides an introduction to the Spanish language and an exploration of Spanish speaking cultures.
Create an innovative program that introduces students to the Spanish language and a diverse array of Spanish speaking countries and cultures.
Prepare and execute thoughtful units of study designed to reach the different learning styles of the students in the classroom.
Work closely with fellow foreign language teachers to ensure a cohesive curriculum.
Seek community partnerships or programs to supplement classroom learning.
Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.
Consistently and clearly communicate with colleagues, administrators, and parents regarding any student or classroom issues; prepare semi-annual report card comments.
Attend faculty meetings as determined by the Head of Lower School.
Collaborate with teachers to ensure integration with other subjects.
Actively participate in all in-service and orientation days.
Fluent in Spanish and English
Experience teaching language, preferably in an independent school setting.
