The Director of Communications and Public Relations reports directly to the Head of the School and is responsible for the School’s overall marketing, publications and communications. The Director of Communications and Public Relations works closely with the Director of Admissions and the Director of Development and Alumnae Relations on marketing and branding of the School.
Responsibilities include the following:
-Develop and oversee all marketing efforts to support the School’s branding and messaging.
-Develop all publications (including the Alumnae Magazine and the Annual Report), promotional videos and other print materials to effectively communicate with our various constituent groups: parents, alumnae, prospective parents, donors, etc.
-Coordinate the design of all internal publications.
-Design and produce event materials and manage advertising to support and promote development and admissions efforts.
-Serve as on-site campus photographer at all school events and oversee professional photographer at events such as Alumnae Weekend, Commencement, and Convocation
-Oversee all outside vendors who support the marketing effort, including designers, writers, photographers, videographers, printer, and mail houses.
-Supports market research to help enhance marketing and branding efforts of the school
-Develop and respond to public relations issues at the School and keep the Head of School informed on all matters.
-Assess overall marketing efforts and develop strategies to respond to market shifts and challenges.
-Oversee the design and maintenance of the School’s website and social media sites
-Function as the spokesperson for the School in the case of an emergency or an event that requires a public response.
-Represent the School at various events – including all major school events, regional alumnae events, and others.
-Oversee annual budget for public relations, printing, advertising and photography.
-Serve as advisor to the Yearbook.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
-Support the School and its leadership.
-Participate as a member of the Senior Staff.
-Reflect best practices, support of the School’s mission and a commitment to diversity in all work.
