Pacific Point Academy is looking for a dynamic special educator who has experience teaching math to students with varying levels of math abilities. This teacher specializes in small group and one-to-one instruction for grades 1-8. Pacific Point Academy is an innovative and flexible learning program made up of a team of specialists who work collaboratively to meet the needs of all students.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Valid teaching credential: Special Education with a mild/moderate emphasis.
Valid teaching credential: Mathematics
** Will consider general education mathematics teacher who has taught modified mathematics classes to students with learning disabilities and/or learning differences and is familiar with modifying and adapting curriculum to student’s learning needs.
Summary of Teaching Responsibilities:
Effectively teach elementary/middle school students in a small group setting.
Knowledge and expertise in designing lesson plans around common core math goals.
Work with students in setting educational goals.
Adapt instruction and lessons based on individual student needs.
Maintain highly structured and organized classroom.
Maintain open and effective communication with parents, students, colleagues and administration.
Complete progress reports to track academic progress.
Encourage students to explore creative learning styles.
Embrace and seek out new technology or other tools to enhance and improve the quality of education.
Our innovative learning environment is ideal for those candidates comfortable using variety of technology in a learning environment (iPad, electronic texts, assessments and tracking tools).
