Dwight School is seeking an Editorial Associate, beginning July 1, 2018, who will manage information to produce and distribute the majority of school notifications and communications to faculty/staff, students, and parents; contributes writing for publications, marketing materials, social media, and website; and supports the Editorial Director in media-related activities, as needed.
Digital, Publications and Visual Communications:
Collect information for and draft all notifications to parents, faculty/staff, etc.
Produce and send weekly mailer
Review and edit the weekly updates
Develop and send the “Daily Bulletin”
Develop and implement social media strategies and plans that facilitate and are integrated with Dwight’s strategic goals
Write and produce media for Dwight’s Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn accounts
Work closely with Editorial Director to develop timeline and content for stories and posts
Work with Editorial Director to ensure proper messaging is executed online
Collate photos and copy for Dwight Today magazine (2x per year), as needed
Collate/proof annual updates to handbooks
Produce an annual parent calendar
Prepare marketing materials, as needed
Update bulletin board displays and plasma screens around the school
Manage the schedule for event posters and ensure things are posted and removed on a timely basis
Help schedule and manage professional photographers based on event and photo needs
Assist with video shoots when necessary
Requirements of the Position:
Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism or communications required
Two (2) – Four (4) years’ of writing/communications experience required
Strong organizational and time management skills a must
Must be self-motivated and a team player
Excellent verbal and communication skills a must
Web and software application experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required
Must have the ability to prioritize and multi-task
Social media understanding and interest required
