Position Overview: The Fessenden School is seeking a motivated self-starter to assist the accounting operations in the Business Office of the School. Primary focus will be Accounts Receivable, but will also include all aspects of the business office, as assigned.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Maintain student & day care & rental billing accounts, currently in SmartTuition & Blackbaud
Use technology to streamline billing
Follow up with families that are in arrears
Payment processing & bank deposits
Credit card reconciliations
Bookstore support; inventory, integration, sales
Occasional accounts payable & payroll support
Support community in accounting inquiries
Other support to CFO & Controller, as needed
Able to work in a diverse environment, as our staff, student body and their families come from multiple countries and cultures.
Position requires ability to perform with minimal supervision
Other duties as needed
Qualifications & Skills:
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
2 years related experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, multilingual is a plus
Critical thinking skills and the ability to problem solve
Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, and customer service
Ability to work independently and make routine decisions related to Accounts Receivables
Strong organizational skills; ability to establish and manage multiple priorities
Strong computer skills, including Excel, are necessary
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
Prior experience with billing and accounts receivables
