Position Summary: The Learning Services & Testing Director in consultation with the Assistant Head of School for Academic Support assists in activities regarding general education support services, small group instruction, targeted intervention - one-to-one services, accommodation plans, general education testing, AP testing, and College Board testing requests.
General Duties & Responsibilities:
Support Wasatch Academy’s mission, values, institutional goals and educational philosophy.
In conjunction with the Assistant Head of School for Academic Support, communicate with Admissions staff regarding potential students.
In conjunction with the Assistant Head of School for Academic Support, evaluate in a timely manner testing and transcripts for students who may need learning services.
In conjunction with the Assistant Head of School for Academic Support, recommend appropriate Learning Services based on evaluation.
In conjunction with the Assistant Head of School for Academic Support, assist Admissions staff in communicating Learning Services plans to potential parents.
Centralize and store all data regarding student accommodations, interventions, IEP and 504 documentation, and psycho-educational testing.
Seek appropriate accommodations for the SAT, ACT, or other standardized tests
Communicate with faculty regarding the specific accommodations and interventions needed by individual learners.
With the Assistant Head of School for Academic Support assist faculty in execution of accommodations and interventions.
In conjunction with the Assistant Head of School for Academic Support, communicate with the registrar regarding scheduling needs and Learning Services Tier 1 and Tier 3, Study Skills, and Transitions for Life courses.
Work with the Assistant Head of School for Academic Support to establish standard operating procedures and policies for Learning Services Programs.
Teach one-to-one 2-3 students per year for targeted learning services.
Timely creation and distribution of Accommodation Plans for enrolled students.
SAT, ACT, TOEFL - fall (at least twice) and spring (once) transportation arrangements for off-campus tests, meal arrangements for on and off-campus tests; organization and administration of PSAT and pre-ACT in the fall, assisting students to release of TOEFL/ SAT/ACT test scores to colleges, and e-mailings to parents regarding score results and exam deadlines.

Identify, track, and report on student progress (student’s enrolled in learning services). Evaluate effectiveness of support systems and accommodations for students with accommodation plans.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree or higher required in Special Education. Master’s degree preferred.
An understanding of independent or private school culture.
Ability to quickly establish relationships and effectively collaborate with school community.
Proficiency in various computer software, programming, and data entry.
Extremely well organized.
Ability to maintain a professional appearance at all times.
