Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Head of School will be responsible for the ongoing success of every aspect of SLES. She or he is responsible for implementing the schools mission and strategic vision and overseeing the day-to-day operation of the school.
The Head exercises vision and creativity in articulating St. Luke’s mission of academic and personal excellence, lifelong learning and service to others.” He or she will also ensure curriculum and program development that maintains the school’s academic strength. She or he manages the annual budget and plays an active role in institutional advancement. The Head works closely with the Board on strategic issues facing the school. She or he serves as the principal ambassador to the school’s key external constituents – alumni, parents, donors, corporations, foundations, and a diverse public.
The Head is responsible for the school’s long-range planning. She or he oversees the financial management and capital raising operations of St. Luke’s. Working together with the Board, the Head is responsible for the financial stability of the school and its continued well-being and development. In addition, the Head is responsible for the school’s relationship to the outside community as well as to its various constituencies.
