Business Management, Facilities or Plant Operations, Head of School
Trinity Hall, an independent all-girls high school in the Catholic tradition located in Tinton Falls, NJ, seeks an experienced, collaborative and flexible business officer to join our growing professional staff. The Director of Finance and Operations will play an integral role in managing the financial, physical and human resources of the school. The Director of Finance and Operations will report directly to the Head of School.Anticipated duties and responsibilities include:
Managing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets, protect confidential information, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Operating school business functions, including: tuition billing and collection, accounts payable, contracting, payroll, human resources, accounting and reporting, regulatory reporting and compliance, and other business administration activities, as requested.
Administering the annual budget and multi-year forecasting process to align with the school's goals and mission and maintain account records related to the school’s budget.
Participating in the development of school strategy, providing recommendations, financial analysis, projections, and other data to inform the process.
Supporting the mission, philosophy and culture of the school community.
Modeling and fostering high ethical standards, integrity, and respect for colleagues, students, parents, alumnae, and business partners in the conduct of the school’s business.
Ensure that human resources policies and practices are clearly articulated, consistently applied, and conform to legal requirements.
Maintain integrity of the school’s physical assets, manage the maintenance of campus buildings, ensuring conditions for safe, clean and attractive operations.
Manage and ensure proper cleaning of all buildings; develop time efficient and cost-effective procedures; assign frequency of cleaning tasks while maximizing performance of custodial staff.
With a pro-active approach, plan, schedule, and oversee routine preventative maintenance tasks on buildings, HVAC, water systems, fire safety systems, etc.
Hire and manage the work of independent contractors and vendors including the solicitation, analysis, development, negotiation, and execution of contracts.
Develop and manage annual facilities and campus safety budget including equipment purchases and replacements.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including work safety regulations.
Oversee inspections of all building systems as needed for safety and compliance (boiler, fire alarms, fire safety equipment, asbestos management, water systems, etc.).
We seek candidates with experiences managing school business operations, preferably with evidence of strong understanding of knowledge of finance; facility management; and essential human resource needs. A related bachelor’s degree is required for this position; advanced degree preferred.
