The Bryn Mawr School seeks a full time Technical Director teacher to begin August, 2018. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical theater background with a degree in theater or commensurate professional experience in the industry. The candidate should believe in developing students as theater technicians and should have strong theater management, teaching, and leadership skills. The desire to be innovative with the curriculum and to collaborate with colleagues in a K-12 environment are essential.
Manage, set-up, operate, and maintain sound, lighting, and AV equipment for events, assemblies, and concerts
Supervise outside contractors and directors ? Work closely with the Director of Arts and Upper School Arts Department Chair to schedule the auditorium for rehearsals, performances, productions, and meetings
Maintain organization of back stage and booth spaces including the scene shop and the costume loft
Provide vision for technical theater improvements to the campus

Facility with EOS element and Allen and Heath lighting and sound board technologies
Ability to design and build sets and props for K-12 productions
Ability to design and run lights and sound for concerts, events, and staged productions
Ability to teach and manage students as they design, use power tools, build, paint, and run technical theater equipment
Ability to develop divisional teams of students interested in technical theater ? Ability to operate power tools and lift more than 25 lbs
Ability to work nights and evenings as needed
