Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, a Catholic, independent college preparatory high school for young women, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to serve both our Day and Boarding programs. The School Nurse will be a member of High School Administration and will coordinate and respond to the needs of the student body (grades 9-12), faculty, staff, administrators, families, community and healthcare providers to advocate for health care and a healthy school environment. This position may include living and working in the Residential Life program.
The School Nurse is responsible for developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures that are in compliance with federal, state and local laws and that support the school’s mission. Additionally, the School Nurse will be responsible for providing major or minor first aid to students and refer students to clinics as required, evaluating students and employees with contagious or infectious diseases, and the oversight of all Student Accident Reports, including follow-up with families, athletic trainers, employees and the Business Office. The School Nurse must also be available for calls after hours, as approximately 15% of students are boarding students and live on campus.
Current California State RN Licensure
Knowledge of California state laws and first aid/CPR standards are required
2-4 years of recent medical experience, preferably as a school nurse
Nursing degree from accredited college or university preferred
Must hold a valid Class C driver’s license
School Nurse Certificate and Public Health Certificate are desirable
