Tandem Friends School, a co-ed, Quaker, 5th-12th grade independent day school in Charlottesville, Virginia, seeks an experienced, part-time Middle/Upper School Spanish teacher for two classes in the 2018-19 school year.
At Tandem Friends School, Spanish language instruction begins in the eighth-grade year, and continues into Upper School. The school uses a rotating schedule; classes meet at different times on different days throughout the year.
The ideal candidate will possess:
3-5 years of language teaching experience,
a relevant advanced degree,
a strong understanding of the developmental needs of adolescents,
experience with student-centered teaching and learning practices,
fluency in multiple languages.
