St. Johns Country Day School is seeking an experienced leader to fill the role of Director of Admissions. Qualified applicants will value strong relationships with students and colleagues and build and maintain relationships with members of the faculty and staff.
The Director of Admissions is responsible for representing St. Johns Country Day Schools educational program to prospective students and parents. The Admissions Director is in charge of the recruitment and retention of a diverse student body consistent with the school’s mission. The position is responsible for oversight and coordination of the admissions process from initial inquiries, communicating with prospective families and processing applications, developing relationships with feeder schools and implementing a recruitment plan, serving as an ambassador to the wider community through events.
The Director of Admissions will coach, lead, and support the St. Johns’ team in the overall admissions process. The Director of Admissions will manage the activities and processes of the Admission Office to ensure exceptional marketing, to create authentic opportunities for right-fit families, and to maintain high demand and yields that result in full enrollment. The Director of Admissions will work to ensure strong partnerships with Marketing, Development, and Communications Departments and the academic divisions, to help the Office of Admissions in supporting the mission of the department and St. Johns.
Lead the Admissions Application Process, which includes systematic and efficient handling of applications and communication with candidates and their parents; interviews with candidates and their parents; arrangements for admissions testing; securing of necessary student credentials; and communicating final decisions to the appropriate individuals.
Collect and process feedback data; conduct analysis for continuous process improvement.
Build and maintain relationships with targeted feeder schools.
Serve as liaison to the Development and Communications Departments including oversight, coordination, and management of marketing materials research and design, applicant messaging campaign, and messaging strategies for internal and external partners.
Lead the Admissions Department in providing family visits/ tours, assisting with parent meetings, assisting with testing and training, and providing follow-up with families.
Serve as the schoolwide Admissions Liaison; conduct admissions overview sessions with faculty & staff; represent the school at community events and conferences.
Provide strategic oversight and support for external admissions events and fairs.
Support onboarding activities including the coordination of data flow within and between the Admissions Department and other areas/departments, and the supervision and planning of schoolwide onboarding activities. Develop and implement policy and process for online record retention.

Additional Salary Information: The position is for the academic year starting in August 2018. A salary commensurate with experience, degree attainment, and qualifications is paid to employees annually.
