Dwight School, located on the Upper West Side, is looking for a passionate, innovative and tech orientated Middle and Upper School Librarian to join our dynamic library team for the 2018-2019 school year.
Responsibilities the of position:
Administration of the Middle and Upper School library and research programs including managing the catalog and maintaining collections, databases and subscriptions.
Provide instruction in research skills and library literacy, partnering with faculty to facilitate student research assignments. Undertake regularly scheduled Research classes in 6th grade, as well as regular push-ins to all other grades as coordinated with subject teachers.
Managing and supervising the Middle and Upper School Library
Promoting a love of reading and lifelong learning
Communicate with students’ advisors, parents, and teachers as appropriate.
Hold a minimum of a master’s degree in Librarianship/Information Sciences from an accredited ALA program.
Experience working with middle and upper school students
Have a strong desire to contribute to a collaborative faculty.
Have a sound knowledge of Google Suite, a proficiency and ease with online learning-management. systems, and enthusiasm for experimenting with learning technologies.
Have patience, enthusiasm, and the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience working in an International Baccalaureate school is desired but not a requirement.
