The Rocky Hill School Librarian is an essential partner in our K-12 educational program. As the leader of our library program, the position serves the entire community by promoting the use of digital and print materials and partnering with our community to develop information skills for the future and sharing a love of reading with our community. The Librarian is an instructional partner and resource for the faculty supporting the project-based learning program and assisting with student activities and recommending materials.
We are seeking an individual who is dynamic and enthusiastic about research, reading, and learning. The successful candidate will have experience advocating for the integration of research skills in curriculum and offer ideas to shape the vision of our Library.
Teaching Nursery – Second Grade Story Classes exposing children to the joys of books and stories
Developing online learning materials to support as needed research skill instruction
Identifying online resources and tools that will be used across all grades
Facilitating the transformation of the Center for Inquiry into a dynamic environment
Providing class support as needed
Curating curriculum projects that occur across the K-12 academic program
Assisting with grant submission for further program funding
Bachelors degree, MLS/MLIS preferred, eligibility for Rhode Island certification
This is an eleven-month staff position beginning in August 2018.
