The Alumnae Relations Coordinator will oversee the growth of alumnae programs in collaboration with the Buffalo Seminary Alumnae Association, providing direction and support for these programs with the goal of increasing alumnae volunteer service, donations and overall satisfaction with the school. As such, the Coordinator will confer regularly with the Directors of Development and Communication. The ability to engage and cultivate SEM alumnae is a key component of this position, as well as mastery of social media and communication trends. Ultimately, the goal is to take SEM’s successful alumnae program to the next level.
The Coordinator will organize and supervise all aspects of Reunion Weekend, Fall BSAA Luncheon, Holiday Bazaar and the Senior BSAA Induction Luncheon. With the Director of Communication, the Coordinator will assist with copy production particularly with alumnae-related subject matter (i.e. Class Notes) for SEMToday magazine, the SEM website, and other promotional materials. With the Director of Development, the Coordinator will communicate with Class Agents and other key alumnae.
The Coordinator of Alumnae Relations must be creative and motivated to build new opportunities. The ideal candidate should be friendly, outgoing, and willing to become an active member of a vibrant school and alumnae community.
This is a part-time position, approximately 50%, with potential for expansion in the future.
Preference will be given to a candidate who has experience at an independent school or non-profit institution or a combination of experience and education from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
Demonstrated ability to strategize, implement, and build constituency programs and activities, along with a talent for motivating volunteers.
Ability to work independently as well as thrive in a team environment to achieve institutional goals.
High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information.
Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to travel and work some evenings and weekends, as needed.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills.
Photography, videography, or design software experience is a plus.
