Under the general direction of the Director of Enrollment Management, the Communication and Data Specialist is responsible for communication from the admission office, data collection, managing our software system and assisting the Director of Enrollment Management in administration of the Admission office. It is necessary to ensure amicable working relationships with all facets of the school community and public. Incumbent will work with Admission office staff and members of the Administrative Council as needed to develop admission materials and assist with marketing of Idyllwild Arts.
Candidates must have the following qualifications
Ensures the integrity and security of one or more databases.
Reviews data to be entered into a database to ensure accuracy and provide effective reporting.
Programs applications, inquiry forms, email templates, communication plans, etc. as required from both the Academy and Summer offices.
Responds to inquiries concerning policies and procedures pertaining to departmental operations.
Troubleshooting within the database to ensure functionality is consistent.
To support admission policy implementation and enrollment needs, works closely with Director of Enrollment Management to develop processes that meet Academy data entry and compliance standards.
Provides direction or assistance to users of information and facilitates periodic training for employees to ensure proper data management.
Works closely with the marketing team with all aspects of promoting academy enrollment.
Attends student performances as often as possible.
Works closely with the Idyllwild Arts Summer Program in all aspects of recruitment.
Performs other duties as assigned. For example, conducting family tours on campus, and interaction with current students and school community members in matters concerning admission and students.
Participate in regular Development staff and organization-wide meetings; prepare and present reports and updates as required
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college and one-year experience in an admission or business organization.
Previous experience of at least two years working with software is required (html experience is preferred). Strong organizational and technical skills are necessary. S/he will need the ability to learn our Campus Student Information System (Blackbaud), Hobsons Radius, and Hobsons App Review. Applicants must have effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical information to audiences of all levels. Experience in a high-volume, customer service-oriented, data entry and management unit, as well as supervisory experience in an educational institution, is preferred.
Ability and desire to work within the Idyllwild community, Riverside County, or commute a reasonable distance, that does not impede on-time arrival during winter months. Obtain and maintain a valid California Driver License, pass a criminal history background check as required by California Education Code Section 44237, and pass a TB test.

While Performing The Duties Of This Position An Incumbent May Be Required To:
Regularly remain sedentary for long periods of time in meetings and while processing information and paperwork both manually and on a computer.
Specific vision abilities include close, distance and color vision perception and the ability to adjust eye focus. Reaching with the hands and arms and use of hands to finger, type, and manipulate a computer keyboard and mouse is required.
Additionally, the incumbent must be able to converse in clear English both written and orally, over a telephone and in person.
Be able to make public presentations.
Work hours vary and may include days, nights, and weekends.
