Graland’s Development Office is responsible for outreach to the school’s internal and external constituencies. Through community outreach and relationship building, the department motivates Graland’s community and the community at-large to financially support the school. By obtaining resources required by Graland to carry out its educational mission and strategic objectives, the department plays a vital role in contributing to the overall education and personal development of Graland students and maintaining Graland’s place as an outstanding educational institution.
Reporting to the Director of Development, this position supports all development program areas. Focus is primarily on donation gift recording and acknowledgment, Raiser’s Edge database maintenance, and report generation as well as general Development Office support. This is a full-time, non-exempt, twelve-month position.
Hold responsibility for all donation gift entry, tracking and filing on a timely basis
Oversee and process Graland’s receipt of corporate matching gifts, securities and wire transfers
Overall production and mailing of donation acknowledgement receipts and template notes and letters on a timely basis
Produce and distribute quarterly donor pledge reminders
Produce Raiser’s Edge reports for development staff, business office, school administration and volunteers
Hold responsibility for overseeing constituent data entry and change in Raiser’s Edge and/or CORE
Collaborate with the Associate Director of Data Systems to perform all global changes and updates to the database including appeals and annual Graland targets/solicitations
Partner with business, finance and accounting staff re: gift entry, fund creation, gift designation as well as audit and tax reporting
Create all necessary mailing and email lists
Assist with data integrations into other systems such as CORE, Graduway, etc.
Assist with all Development and Alumni-related events (including those held on some evenings and weekends)
Perform other duties as requested, delegated, interested or assigned
Education, Formal Training and Experience – Associates degree or higher in business or equivalent combination of education and experience; one to three years of related development experience in non-profits preferred.
Required Skills – Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with data systems; 1-2 years of experience with Blackbaud products/Raiser’s Edge preferred; excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to balance multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines; ability to work independently and as part of a team; positive attitude and growth mindset – an eagerness to learn new tasks and approaches, to collaborate with and learn from others, to think “outside the box”
