Bancroft seeks a full-time seventh grade science teacher and advisor beginning in August 2018. The ideal candidate for this position will have a rich science background, experience with project-based learning, and can run an inquiry-based classroom while teaching middle schoolers the various skills they need to succeed in seventh grade and beyond. This position also comes with the opportunity to teach ninth grade environmental science in our Upper School.
Willingness to collaborate in the development of curriculum is an essential skill as the Middle School science team is in the midst of an exciting curricular redesign. The best candidates will also demonstrate an ability to successfully collaborate with colleagues across disciplines.
The ideal candidate will be excited to participate in all aspects of school life, including advising approximately 10-12 seventh grade students, leading clubs during the school day, and potentially coaching in our interscholastic sports program. Candidates should be able to utilize technology as a teaching tool in our one-to-one computing environment, and bring interests, expertise, and fresh ideas to our Middle School Clubs program.
