Founded in 1923, Buckley Country Day School is a mission-driven, independent co-educational day school that serves 355 children in grades toddler through grade eight. The Development Assistant is responsible for all administrative aspects of the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. The Office of Development is responsible for school-wide fundraising events, including the Annual Fund, PA Fall Fair, Capital Campaign/Special Initiatives and Alumni Outreach. In addition, the Development Office plays a vital role in supporting the Parent Association by organizing and planning current parent events and activities throughout the year.
Process donations and prepare acknowledgment letters and other correspondence.
Create monthly fundraising reports and other database reports as needed.
Continually update and correct database records.
Conduct preliminary research on prospective and current individual donors including parents and alumni.
Coordinate production and mailing of appeal letters.
Support fund/friend - raising activities and events hosted and implemented by the Development Office, alumni, or Parents Association.
Maintain guest lists, gather and prepare registration materials and other duties as assigned for fundraising events.
Handle all administrative details associated with the Development Committee and Parents Association meetings (i.e. prepare and distribute meeting notices, agendas, minutes, etc.).
Maintain development/alumni webpage and social media pages as it relates to development/alumni activities and events.
Gather Alumni notes for publications.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development and the Assistant Director.
Bachelor's degree and two to three years of experience in an administrative position, preferably in an independent school setting
Must have strong computer and analytical skills
Strong practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proficiency with Word and PowerPoint
Solid database management skills ideally with Raiser’s Edge
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Working knowledge of social media platforms
Ability to organize and prioritize work and to work independently
Excellent interpersonal skills
