The Sage School, a school for gifted students in grades prek - 8, is looking for a creative, engaging, and approachable math teacher who is interested in working with a variety of age groups. Our upper school students (grades 5-8) learn math from Pre-Algebra to Precalculus and Stats through a combination of digital tools, small group instruction, and project-based learning. For lower school (grades K-4), this math teacher will be paired with grade-level co-teachers to work together to meet the mathematical and developmental needs of our younger students. All Students are flexibly grouped by progress, and lesson topics are determined by independent work and assessment data.
Bachelor’s degree in a math or math education
Ability to teach math from introductory to advanced levels
Teaching Experience preferred
Proficiency with science-related mathematical and statistical skills
Familiarity with the use of classroom technologies and proficiency with learning management software
Ability to problem solve efficiently and think critically
Experience with and understanding of a variety of learning styles as well as a willingness to differentiate instruction according to student needs
A strong collaboration and communication skills.
High ethical standards and an awareness of appropriate boundaries as well as sensitivity, respect, and understanding for the educational needs of an adolescent students
