Lake Forest Country Day School (LFCDS) seeks a full-time (8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.) library assistant/study hall teacher for the 2018-19 school year. LFCDS is a coeducational independent school for students two years of age through eighth-grade in Lake Forest, Illinois.
Library Assistant Responsibilities (8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.):
Work with classes as they come to the library for their regular visits or special units.
Process new library materials and withdrawn materials.
Check materials in and out.
Re-shelve materials as necessary.
Track overdue materials.
Create window and in-room displays and seasonal collection displays.
Study Hall Teacher Responsibilities (3:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.):
Assistant approximately 15 students (grades one, two, three and four) in a study hall.
Help students with homework and communicate with homeroom teachers as needed.
Maintain a calm, warm and quiet atmosphere in study hall.
A college degree and classroom teaching experience are required.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
