The Kew-Forest School, a preschool through 12th grade, co-educational day school founded in 1918 in Forest Hills, NY, seeks an Administrative Assistant to begin working immediately. This individual will report to the Business Manager.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Serve as the primary morning receptionist (answering phones, managing security at the doors, greeting and assisting visitors, vendors, etc…)
Record student attendance
Provide administrative/general office support
Plan and implement student event-related activities: set-up, décor, catering, and audiovisual needs
Collaborate with calendar group to secure date, time, and facility requests
Develop and manage event timelines, budgets, and scenarios.
Attend events, provide supervision, and ensure that the event runs smoothly.
Coordinate busing (pick-up/drop-off)
Coordinate field trips and overnight trips
Organize community service
Two (2) years experience in office administration
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required
Must have the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects
Must be self-motivated and a team player
