Morgan Park Academy seeks an Associate Director of Advancement (ADA). Reporting to the Assistant Head of School for Community Relations, the ADA is responsible for day-to-day operations and services of the Advancement Department, enabling the Assistant Head of School to focus on critical goals and initiatives. The ADA is responsible for managing all aspects of the school’s annual campaign.
Organize and champion the Annual Giving Fund by developing strategy and activity timeline, generating creative marketing themes for target audiences, ensuring accurate record-keeping and good stewardship, and meeting mutually agreed-upon performance goals.
Coordinate yearly fundraising events.
Coordinate and prepare the Annual Giving Fund and alumni giving materials (e.g. solicitation letters, email appeals, development website, acknowledgement letters, donor reports).
Coordinate and manage campaign kick-offs and phone-a-thons.
Organize sustainable outreach to the MPA alumni community, working with the Director of Alumni Relations.
Serve on the planning committee for the Alumni Homecoming and for other alumni events.
Serve on the Parents Association committee and help coordinate various community events.
Manage all constituents and gift record-keeping in Results Plus, produce development reports, and provide support for analysis of prospect pool and annual giving patterns.
Working with the Director, expand MPA’s donor base and grow the Annual Giving Fund and campaign/major gifts pipelines. Prepare proposals and presentations as required.
Serve as a collaborator and partner within the Advancement office.
Provide administrative support to the Assistant Head of School.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
Working knowledge of areas of development, including the annual fund, event planning, major gifts, planned gifts, proposal writing, special events, prospect research, policies and procedures
Experienced with fundraising database preferred, and related tools and technology.
Proven aptitude for working as part of a team and displaying a sense of ethical conduct that will inspire confidence and motivation.
Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills including the ability to make effective presentations to large and small groups.
Excellent project management and follow-up skills including strong attention to detail. Accuracy is a must. Proven experience in problem-solving and an ability to develop guidelines and metrics to track effectiveness of projects and processes.
Excellent analytical skills to research special projects, compile complex data, write analyses and formal documents.
The ability to plan and manage the implementation of a variety of complex advancement initiatives simultaneously and to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
