The Communications Coordinator reports to the Director of Development, as well as to the School’s senior communications staff, and is an indispensable point of contact between the Development Office, the academic divisions, the Athletic Department, Parents Association, alumni and other school constituencies. The primary responsibility of this position is to create, distribute, and manage communications for the School’s internal and external communities.
Conceptualize and produce a variety of external and internal communications including but not limited to; email communications, the school publications, newsletters and more
Ensuring all communications are aligned with the mission and identity of CGPS.
Research, train and execute best practices in school communications.
Responsible for capturing all school-based photography and videography and thinking strategically about how to share out all documented school events.
Manage and act as a strategic thought partner on all social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and more.
Organize and routinely update school website’s calendar, as well as help shepherd the Parents Association newsletter to publication by providing proofreading support.
Support other Development Office colleagues during school events, including the CGPS Benefit, which occur outside the workday.
Coordinates with teams across CGPS, such as the Academic Divisions, the Parents Association, the Athletic Department, the Admissions Office and other constituents to ensure timely and accurate communications with CGPS families.
Manage, edit and maintain growing database of photo and video assets.
Help run the school’s emergency alert system, Ruvna sending alerts when needed.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, English or related field
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Strong knowledge of best practices in online and digital communications, as well as experience with web content management, web design, and graphic design
Experience with photography, videography, and social media for digital storytelling
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or iMovie; Adobe Creative Cloud (particularly Photoshop, Lightroom and InDesign); Google Suite or Microsoft Office; content management and digital asset management systems; familiarity with social media aggregators (ex: Hootsuite), Google Analytics, and HTML.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and to provide support to constituents in as timely a manner as possible.
Must be available to attend events throughout the year, including evenings and occasional weekends, to successfully promote the school and its mission.
