A visionary foundation is far along in establishing an ambitious Miami immersion (Mandarin Chinese & Spanish) school, scheduled to open in the fall of 2019 (or early spring 2020). Please apply to launch and lead the Mandarin curriculum for our first school ONLY if you meet the following criteria:
You foster and model positive working relationships and communicate compassionately with your students, fellow staff, parents, community members and educational authorities.
You have at least five years in senior teaching and Mandarin curriculum in private or Mandarin immersion schools with a stellar record of leadership, eloquence, energy and programmatic innovation, not rote memorization or lecture teaching methodology.
You have exceptional abilities to recruit, train, supervise and retain quality staff, including organizing and leading Mandarin teaching staff in all aspects of early childhood.
You have at least a Master’s or doctorate degree, in early childhood education, elementary education, or family and child development.
You relish creating your Mandarin curriculum with values, academic vision, multilingualism and joy, and can work with other lead teachers on such projects.
You are conversant in and enthusiastic about age-appropriate curricula standards and associations (ACTFL, Asia Society, NCLC) for teaching Mandarin, ages 2 ½ - 10.
You balance many roles with grace, poise and confidence.
You are known for a diplomatic and strong grasp of oral and written language skills in English and Mandarin, and manage communications easily in diverse and international communities.
As far as media tools, you demonstrate the highest ease with technology and social networking skills; and, a high proficiency in Mandarin and deep knowledge of the many cultures associated with the Chinese language!
