Bernard Zell AnsheEmet Day School is looking for a dynamic, engaging and passionate Assistant Director for Community Engagement to develop and execute experiences targeting key constituencies, including families with young children. The ideal candidate is a high energy, self-motivated extrovert with a positive attitude and desire to connect throughout the community. Bernard Zell is excited to create meaningful experiences to introduce the school to young families and community partners.
Support Bernard Zell recruitment efforts and external partnerships with local preschools, synagogues and community organizations
Oversee all aspects of the prospective parent application process; lead parent tours and parent interviews, collaborating with Head of Early Childhood and other division leaders
Act as an influencer within the community, generating and curating content for social media and publications; make recommendations to admissions team in order to effectively communicate Bernard Zell brand to prospective parents
Oversee plan for outreach to 0-3 year old segment, including programs, communications, and ambassadorships in order to strengthen admissions pipeline
Lead planning and execution of experiential recruitment events and activities; develop and manage all event planning logistics, contracting speakers/entertainment, curating the right level of Jewish content and projects, developing content for flyers/publicity, and managing registration
Coordinate recruitment materials and event dates with marketing team and provide content updates for website, print publications, and other outreach, ensuring programs are accurately represented
Assist with program evaluation, including development of online surveys and statistical analysis
Lead efforts to engage new families in the school
Assume other jobs in collaboration with Advancement team (marketing, admissions, development) as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with multiple constituencies
Experience with project management and taking projects from concept to completion
Comfort with public speaking and presenting in front of large groups
Strong customer service ethic and exceptional judgment
Results-oriented and able to effectively prioritize work in a dynamic environment
Extremely detail oriented with a strong attention to follow through
Must be available to work a varied schedule of Sunday-Thursday and Monday-Friday
Must have the ability to travel around Chicago community
Proficient in all Microsoft Office product
Bachelor’s Degree required, 5-7 years of experience in non-profit organizations preferred
Knowledge of Jewish community, culture, heritage and traditions
