Milwaukee Montessori School is an independent day school serving 400+ students from 18 months through 8th grade. We are seeking a full-time science teacher for our 7th and 8th grade with a start date in August 2018. Candidates should have an undergraduate or graduate level degree in any science related major but have an affinity for chemistry and a desire to help craft a new chemistry-centric curriculum that is focused on hands-on experiments every day. As a paperless environment, applicants should be comfortable using technology. Our educational setting includes mixed age groups, lesson sizes of approximately eight students, and a competency-based grading system.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about their discipline, who wants to learn and develop as a master teacher, who can be collaborative and innovative in their approach to teaching, and who will embrace and support the diversity of our student body. An added benefit (but by no means necessary) would be a candidate who has played a sport and who is willing to coach volleyball, basketball, or Track and Field after school.
Applicants should send resume or CV, cover letter, and three letters of reference.
