Pine Point School is seeking an experienced professional who, in partnership with the Head of School and the Leadership Team, can manage the financial and physical resources of the School with an approach that provides for the long-term sustainability of the School. The successful candidate will have the ability to collaborate with colleagues in a progressive learning environment and be dedicated to the Pine Point School mission of helping students engage in developing a strong academic and ethical core, a lifelong curiosity about their world, and a commitment to reaching solutions creatively, collaboratively, and compassionately.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets, protect confidential information, and ensure accurate financial reporting
Oversee school business functions, including tuition billing and collection, accounts payable, contracting, payroll, human resources, accounting and reporting, regulatory reporting and compliance, and other business administration activities, supervise the audit
Administer the annual budget and multi-year forecasting process to align with the School’s goals and mission and maintain account records related to the School’s budget
Provide financial reports to school leadership and the board
Participate in the development and implementation of school strategy, providing recommendations, financial analysis, projections, and other data to inform the process
Support the efforts of the Development Office
Collaborate with and assist the Head of School and the Board of Trustees in meeting fiduciary responsibilities
Understand the culture and climate of the School and the wider educational environment
Manage, mentor, and develop direct reports, providing constructive feedback.
Model and foster high ethical standards, integrity and respect for colleagues, alumni, parents, students and community members in the conduct of school business.
Communicate clearly and positively to all staff and stakeholders
Ensure that human resources policies and practices are clearly articulated, consistently applied, and conform to legal requirements
Coordinate campus safety, ensure all safety inspections are current
Serve as the School’s primary contact with contractors and service providers
Oversee the maintenance of the buildings, grounds, and equipment
Oversee the School’s transportation system
Remain current with business management trends and cultivate professional standards and development by participating in local, regional and national professional organizations

Skills, Knowledge, and Attributes:
Relevant Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred
Three years experience as a CFO or Business Manager
Experience in a 501c3, non-profit organization, independent school experience preferred
Experience forecasting, creating, managing and working within budgets
Advanced computer skills with particular knowledge in relevant applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, accounting software). Knowledge of Google applications a plus.
Ability to manage both long and short-term projects, ability to work under pressure while maintaining professional standards
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proven success in a senior administrative role, preferably working with a board
Demonstrated leadership skills
Keen analytical and quantitative skills and a demonstrated attention to detail
Creative problem solver, intellectually curious lifelong learner, warmth of personality, and a positive outlook
