Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Major Gifts Officer (MGO) maximizes giving to the School by establishing long-term relationships with a group of assigned prospects to help them fulfill their passions and interests through their giving to St. Andrew’s and in doing so, assures that the School achieves its strategic goals and priorities. The MGO will collaborate with the Director of Advancement, the Head of School and the entire advancement team to successfully implement St. Andrew’s ambitious comprehensive campaign.
Qualified candidates will have five (5) or more years of successful major gift fundraising experience, preferably in nonprofit or educational environment; capital campaign experience preferred. The MGO will have demonstrated success in achieving fundraising goals and a successful track record of cultivating, soliciting, and securing major gifts. The successful candidate must possess the ability to lead, take initiative, and work collaboratively as a member of a team. She/he will be committed to work within a diverse community that expects collegiality and open communication. The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to build, foster and maintain relationships with both internal and external constituencies including administrators, faculty, trustees, volunteer leaders, students, donors and prospects. Must have effective communication skills to express orally and in writing St. Andrew’s mission and fundraising goals with clarity, passion and persuasion. A Bachelor's degree is required. Must be willing and able to work some nights and weekends and travel 30 to 40 percent.
