Lexington Christian Academy is accepting applications for special education tutor for the 2018-2019 school year. The ideal candidate will have training in special education and be capable of tutoring a student in a variety of subjects. This position requires a flexible schedule. This is an hourly part-time position.
Candidates for LCA positions should be:

Known for setting high standards and coaching students to success
Interested in joining a professional learning community that seeks excellence as a team
EDUCATION: A bachelor’s degree is required. An advanced degree is a preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Careful considerations will be given to applicants who have experience working with and supporting students with documented learning challenges and their families. Developing education plans, collaborating with colleagues is required. Candidates who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and inspiring young people are a priority. Candidates must be committed to a team concept, willing to support the entire school program, not merely to teach assigned students.
PROFICIENCY: The candidates we seek have a broad and deep knowledge of their subject area. In addition, candidates must be able to establish a framework in which learning can take place. They must relate well to young people and still set limits and expectations.
SPIRITUAL MATURITY: Recognizing that LCA is strongly committed to historic Christianity, we expect that candidates will subscribe to the Academy’s Statement of Faith, Standards for Christian Living.
