During the past 17 years, Lake Forest Academy has secured more than $100 million in Academy Fund dollars, endowment gifts and capital improvement funds. Nine new structures were underwritten during the $69 million Campaign for LFA. The $9 million donor-funded Student Union opened in Fall 2016 and a new $1.5 million donor-funded synthetic turf fields project will be completed in Fall 2018. The Academy has embarked on its next major fundraising initiative: a three-year endowment program designed to invest in student access to LFA and an investment in LFA’s first-rate faculty.
LFA is seeking a highly organized professional Advancement Officer who will ensure that the Academy’s donors are appropriately thanked for their philanthropy via a systematic stewardship program that may include written materials and reports, special events and face-to-face interaction via LFA staff members.
This position can be a part-time hourly position or a full-time salary post, depending on the needs and circumstances of the candidate.
Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Advancement, the Stewardship Coordinator organizes and executes the LFA stewardship program including donor reporting on endowed scholarships and faculty chairs.
Serves as a liaison with the Admission and Business departments to ensure appropriate distribution of donor funds and timely reporting.
Serves as a liaison to the Dean of Students and Dean of Faculty on stewardship matters.
Assists with stewardship communications to donors that highlight the impact of philanthropic investment including to top 50 lifetime donors, Cornerstone Society members, Richards & Tremain Society members, etc.
Writes and/or edits Advancement materials upon assignment from the Assistant Dean or VP such as Academy Fund (annual fund) appeals, donor profiles, student and faculty profiles, etc.
Fulfills responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Dean of Advancement.

Required experience and/or education:
Minimum Bachelor's degree
Fundraising experience in education or not-for-profit organizations is preferred. Candidates with degrees in journalism, communications or other writing programs are preferred.
