AIM Academy is currently seeking a long-term substitute teacher for a 5th grade classroom to begin on August 23, 2018 through October 19, 2018. The substitute teacher will be responsible for implementing AIM’s curriculum and utilizing classroom routines and procedures with consistency. The substitute teacher will also be responsible for developing lesson plans, homework assignments and assessments for the following subjects: reading, writing, math, comparative literacy, science, and social studies.
The substitute teacher will collaborate in grade level teams to discuss student work, share best practices, and ensure student progress. The substitute teacher will be expected to form and maintain relationships with students’ families, including phone calls and conferences, and will be invited to participate in any professional development being offered. AIM is looking for an instructor who is committed to teamwork and high expectations for all students. The ideal candidate will have certification in elementary/special education and classroom teaching experience working with children with learning disabilities.
