Reporting to the Vice President for Philanthropy and Community Engagement (PACE), the Annual Fund Manager is responsible for managing the annual fund program and providing support for other fundraising initiatives.
Design, implement, manage, and evaluate annual fund strategy and approach, including:
Determine theme, approach, and messaging for annual fund
Develop print and electronic solicitation and support materials for all constituency groups and segments
Manage annual fund promotion efforts
Develop and manage the faculty and staff annual giving program
Assist with training and support of Advancement Committee members or other volunteers in relation to annual fund efforts
Manage donor stewardship and recognition efforts
Produce reports to track and evaluate the success of the annual fund on a monthly and annual basis and assess the effectiveness of specific strategies
Conduct personal solicitations of key major donors as assigned in collaboration with the Vice President for PACE
Manage the Presidents Circle for major donors, including developing and implementing solicitation, stewardship strategies, and donor events
Coordinate with Alumni Relations Manager on alumni or parents of alumni solicitation activities
Work with the MarComm Department to update the Support, Annual Fund, and Giving pages on the website
Manage and acknowledge in-kind donations
Oversee data entry into Veracross; confirm accuracy of data; serve as back up in the absence of the PACE Associate
Coordinate the development and production of the Annual Report
Assist with the annual auction, including soliciting sponsorships; recruiting and managing Table Captains; coordinating Best of Live Raffle and sponsored teacher/staff ticket process; and providing other support as needed
Assist with other fundraising and PACE department events and initiatives as requested
Manage annual grandparent mailing and oversee Grizzly Gram distribution
Assist with Grandparents Day
Manage faculty/staff and parent fundraising/item drive request process and forms
Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of direct fundraising experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may substitute for a degree.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including the ability to work collaboratively on a team and communicate effectively and respectfully with donors, board members, volunteers, staff, parents, grandparents, and alumni.
Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple deadlines and deliverables in a timely, organized way. Adept at juggling competing priorities. Ability to stay focused, even-tempered, and to use good judgment in stressful circumstances.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Flexible, adaptable, and with a good sense of humor.
Experience working with fundraising databases, knowledge of Veracross and Auction-Tracker preferred.
Experience attending or working in an independent school preferred.
