Vermont Academy (VA) is seeking an energetic, innovative admissions professional ready to make a name for themselves in the enrollment management field! The School desires someone with strong interpersonal and organizational skills to lead Vermont Academy into a new era. Reporting to the Head of School, the Director of Enrollment Strategy and Admissions will:
Craft and implement a strategic enrollment management plan that will attract mission-appropriate students, including boarding and day students, male and female students, athletes and artists, and domestic and international students.
Present Vermont Academy to prospective families on- and off-campus.
Oversee and direct a schedule of strategic admissions events.
Lead the Admissions Office and manage a team of dedicated admissions professionals.
Leverage existing and new data to drive decision-making.
Share with Head of School monthly statistical reports that reflect an understanding of admission, marketing and strategy, and report to Board of Trustees as directed by the Head of School; assesses feedback of applicant families on a regular basis.
Work with the Chief Financial Officer to administer an effective and sustainable financial aid strategy.
Work with the Dean of Students on enrollment management and retention, from inquiry through matriculation.
Work with the Assistant Head of External Affairs to share information and support advancement work, planning regional, shared events for alumni, current parents and prospective families
Work with the Director of Communications on a strategic communications plan for admissions that includes an advertising schedule for key markets and clear, authentic storytelling about Vermont Academy and what distinguishes it from other schools.
Foster and maintain relationships with educational consultants, feeder schools, alumni, former families, and other key referral sources.
Work with the Head of School and serve on the Executive Council to set strategy and to realize a vision of Vermont Academy as “Vermont’s academy,” representing Vermont values such as independence, ingenuity, resilience, sustainability, a love of the outdoors, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
At least 5 years of admissions experience, preferably in boarding schools.
Previous experience working with international families and consultants.
A passion for using data to help make decisions and strategies and facility in doing so
A willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and abroad.
A passion for independent boarding schools and the life-changing experiences they offer.
A positive attitude, a sense of humor, and a commitment to team success.
Experience managing OnBoard, or equivalent enrollment management software.
