Interlochen Center for the Arts is seeking to hire a Registrar. This position of Registrar will serve all Interlochen education programs areas, focusing on strategic planning and implementation of new timelines to increase efficiency and better serve students and families. This position will be responsible for the functions of transcript reporting, master schedule building, student course requests, student scheduling, grade reporting, and graduation credit compliance are carried out by multiple positions and departments on the Interlochen campus. The Registrar will report to the Assistant Vice President of Education Programs.
Lead registrar function--all registration issues--at Interlochen Arts Academy (IAA), Interlochen Arts Camp (IAC), and Interlochen College of Creative Arts (ICCA)
Work closely and collaboratively with other administrators and departments to educate and provide advice regarding registrar compliance issues, and especially to maintain FERPA compliance
Create and maintain IAA, ICA and ICCA master schedule
Manage IAA and ICA course selection process, and create events and courses for ICCA
Manage transcript requests for former IAA students and graduates, and for ICCA students, if applicable
Maintain integrity and operation of the Student Information System, including data transfers to the Learning Management System
Balance IAA, ICA, and ICCA class loads and provide advice regarding low request/enrollment
In consultation with Academic and College Counselors, add, drop, and move students to alternative classes
Provide information for program reviews and assessments
Publish quarterly grades, and communicate with faculty regarding late grades and comments
Send IAA and ICA communication informing parents and students that grades are available
Generate lists for semester honors and graduation recognition
Run IAA graduation audits and alert supervisor, counselors, and faculty, as necessary of students in graduation jeopardy
Communicate any daily schedule changes to the IAA, ICA, and ICCA faculty and staff
Provide guidelines and protocols regarding grade comments; educate faculty on grading comment standards; proofread grade comment, correct errors when possible, and work with faculty to revise as necessary
Detail oriented with excellent organizational and planning skills
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities simultaneously
Ability to manage competing demands, and adapt to frequent or unexpected changes
