Isidore Newman School seeks an administrative professional to join a dynnamic team of teachers , artists and administrators for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year starting as soon as September 2018.
This position clerically supports the Dean of the Arts in all functions and also supports the Associate Head of School specifically regarding professional development, Federal and State funding for educational expenses and human resources. The assistant maintains a caring atmosphere while serving a wide variety of stakeholders in the Newman community including parents, faculty, students, and administrators.
Duties and Responsibilities:
For the Dean of the Arts
Manage the Arts Schedule
Manage the Dean of the Arts communications
Organize the Dean of the Arts calendar and the whole school arts calendar, being thorough and detail minded when it comes to the logistics of reserving space for arts events on campus.
Arrange meetings for the Dean of the Arts with numerous administrators and faculty
Edit letters and mailings from the Dean of the Arts
Support publication of student arts events
Coordinate visiting artist schedules
Document and organize receipts for the arts budget and professional development
Take part in Newman Arts events as an ambassador of the school.
Fulfill all duties as required by the Dean of the Arts and the Assistant Head of School
Work with Parent arts liaisons
For the Associate Head of School
Write and coordinate the state report of Louisiana Department of Education
Attend Federally mandated meetings
Manage Federal and State funds for professional development and textbooks
Process and coordinate professional development events and attendance
Plan and coordinate candidate visits to the school

Maintains confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Bachelor's degree or commensurate relevant work experience
Successful experience as an administrative assistant preferred
Experience in a school environment preferred, but not mandatory
