The Phelps School seeks a part-time or full-time staff member to provide athletic training services to student-athletes and to ensure proper safety supervision and response to injuries at sports events, athletic activities, and related programs. The Athletic Trainer reports to the Director of Athletics and works under the medical direction of the school physician and students’ other treating physicians, in compliance with applicable state athletic training practices and regulations.
The Trainer must maintain accurate records of injuries and treatments; coordinate pre-participation sports physicals; provide coaches with lists of athletes medically eligible to compete; and assist the Athletic Director as requested. For a part-time position, daily duties typically begin at 3:30 p.m. on weekdays and include some evenings and weekends (for sports events).
Depending upon the trainer’s qualifications and interests, the position may also include teaching responsibilities (presumably Health and P.E. classes).
In addition, the Athletic Trainer may choose to serve on the residential life staff, with campus housing provided. Salary is determined accordingly.

Bachelor's degree in an applicable field
National Athletic Trainers Association certification (NATA BOC)
Pennsylvania licensure/registration (or in process of attaining)
PA teaching certification (Health and Physical Education)
