Saint David’s School seeks a Middle School Learning Specialist.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Working with boys in Grades 4-8 one-on-one and in small groups.
Providing direct support in both push-in and pull-out formats.
Observing and assessing student performance and maintaining records on all observations and assessments.
Working with Upper School teachers to help them understand the diverse needs of students and provide techniques for differentiation.
Actively contributing to the growth of the Learning Center by providing effective and varied instructional methods and materials.
Administering and coordinating individual and grade-level assessments and standardized testing.
Analyzing assessment data and developing individual and curriculum goals.
Collaborating with teachers and parents to ensure boys meet and/or exceed instructional goals and expectations.
Maintaining and monitoring student profiles and sharing information with team.
Coordinating psycho-educational evaluations and supports as needed.
Participating in parent-teacher conferences and team meetings.
Qualified candidates will have Master’s Degree in Learning Disabilities or a related field and strong teaching experience with students with learning differences. Candidate will have the ability to work and communicate well with faculty and parents; experience in curriculum planning and development; excellent oral and written communication; a commitment to character development; good judgment, patience, and flexibility; and a commitment to the mission of Saint David’s School.
