The Parent and Alumni Relations Associate is an integral member of Dexter Southfield’s Advancement Office and will support the School’s growing parent and alumni engagement efforts. This position will work closely with all Advancement Office team members, in addition to interacting with school-wide constituencies including faculty/staff, alumni and parents.
To be successful in this role, you must be able to:
Work collaboratively with the Director of Parent and Alumni Relations, the Director of Advancement, and other team members to develop and execute engagement strategies for the key constituencies of parents and alumni
Assist in managing the Advancement Office’s portfolio of events, including helping execute the day-of activities and managing pre-event logistics including events calendars, timelines and work plans, briefing materials, and communications to key stakeholders.
Accurately prepare and track RSVP lists, produce nametags, and oversee post-event data follow-up for parent, alumni and school-wide events
Manage event budgets, tracking receipts, check requests and invoices
Assist in the development of parent and/or alumni communications, including newsletters and invitations
Collect and edit alumni class notes for the School’s biannual magazine
Support content development for the School’s online alumni engagement platform
Coordinate inventory and ordering of stewardship items
Collaborate with the Athletics Department to oversee and execute the seasonal sports parent identification initiative
Support the work of the Parents Association, Alumni Board and other key volunteer groups, including assisting with meeting preparation
Actively contribute to team planning and brainstorming sessions to generate ideas and recommend strategies
Assist in other Advancement Office initiatives as assigned
3-5 years of work experience, preferably in a development setting
Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge, SharePoint, MailChimp, Wufoo and/or similar technology platforms
College degree preferred
Some night and weekend work required, particularly during peak event times (September through November and April through June).
