The Baldwin School is seeking a long-term Substitute Teacher for First Grade, beginning December 3, 2018. The term of this assignment will be approximately 13 weeks, ending March 1, 2019.
School will be closed for winter break December 24-January 4.
We are seeking a substitute teacher who can utilize relevant technology in teaching Language Arts, Social Studies and Math to Lower School students. The successful candidate will support and develop students’ creative and critical thinking skills in a nurturing environment. The substitute teacher will collaborate with the other first grade teacher as well as other faculty members in the Lower School. Long-term substitutes are expected to participate fully in the life of the school and support the School’s mission during the term of their assignment.
B.A. or B.S. in education with specific course work in elementary education required, a Master’s degree is preferred
A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant classroom teaching experience is required. Experience with first grade preferred.
Excellent communication skills
Creative, energetic, and positive approach to teaching
Experience teaching with technology.
