Sidwell Friends, a PK-12 Quaker day school located in Washington, DC seeks an experienced Assistant Principal for its Middle School (Grades 5-8) division. The Assistant Principal is responsible for student discipline, including family meetings related to discipline and academics; managing the 5/6 and 7/8 Middle School schedules, including coordinating and communicating schedule changes as needed; helping to coordinate special schedules; scheduling substitute teachers; attending meetings of the Student Support Team; and general support of the daily life and running of the Middle School, including support for teachers, program and students. The Assistant Principal is expected to attend evening and weekend events such as dances and transition meetings for parents. Experience and comfort working with data management systems is necessary.
A master’s degree is preferred. Three years of experience in administration and /or leadership roles and at least five years of classroom teaching are required. This is a 12-month, full-time position.
